their heads through the ground, reaching for the sun, I can't help but think
of the Spring topics of rebirth and transformation. To those of you in the
christian world who are celebrating Easter today, this takes on another
meaning for you as it does for those commemorating Passover, Beltane, and
other rites and events corresponding to this time of year.
Are we energized by the shift of season? Are we now coming alive after a
long winter rest? Do we feel a stronger connection to the Universe?
profound changes in my life and my self. Anxious to shed the tattered cloak
of hibernation, I feel the transformation taking place in my thoughts,
ideas, my very soul. As I come into my body, after too long a stay away, I
connect with the plants in my garden as I release the tired and worn out
thoughts I've carried for years and push toward the sky, renewing my
connection with the Universe and replenishing my soul with her warmth,
compassion, and love.

session really appealed to me. I tried it the next week and was able to stay
focused as the client's animal spirit guide brought me through wonderful
worlds. The client was excited to interpret the symbols and carried home

fairy tales, legends, etc. and like the quest for the Holy Grail...I have
always been looking out for my rainbow ...only recently I came to realise
that the rainbow is actually in all us of us ..the chakra points....so irony
is like the Holy Grail - charity begins at Om.
It's so important to get the reiki word out in these changing times.
The universal energy offered and understood was applied (Short Version) and
here I am writing about this...Reiki can accomplish so very much..I have
many stories
where Reiki helped Miracles occur.
year I read the book, Straight From the Horse's Mouth, by Amelia Kincaid,
(available from One Spirit book club). The forward is written by Dr. Bernie
Seigel, who is highly respected as a surgeon and as a highly published
proponent of the mind body connection in healing. He was taught by Amelia
to communicate telepathically with his cats. The book is marvelous. Amelia
teaches what animal communication is, how it works, and describes practices
which will allow people to communicate telepathically with all forms of
animal life. Her book is humorous, challenges conventional beliefs,
teaches, and breaks through any doubts. Reading the book has changed my
understanding of life and death, and of the role that animals play in our
lives. It also prepared me to be accepting of the reading I was to have in
January of this year with a medium who communicated some things to me from
my father who had died in 1985. One of the authors I read on Reiki, said
that when we receive a Reiki attunement, we are signaling to the Universe
that we are willing to be transformed. The book, Straight From the Horses
Mouth, transforms the individual reader. It is a transformation in line
with truth, life and love.
and coincidence regarding Reiki
To me, the following served as a confirmation that I was doing the correct
thing by attending a class on Reiki. It also confirmed that I had chosen
the right Reiki master/teacher for me. Or was I the one really doing the
choosing?
At the end of the first day of my level one class, my Reiki master/teacher
told us, among other things, to go home have a nice meal. He personally was
thinking of having; pork chops, baked potato or rice, a nice green
vegetable, and something sweet for dessert and then to relax for the
evening. His wife, also a Reiki master/teacher, told us to have a nice cup
of tea, like a cup of herb or spiced tea to relax. WELL ,,,, The class ran
a bit late. I called my wife from my cell phone to let her know I was on my
way home. When I arrived dinner was ready, and you may have guessed by now;
we were having baked pork chops, baked sweet potatoes and asparagus. I,
jokingly, asked my wife if she had been talking to my Reiki teachers. Then
I related to her what was suggested for dinner that night. We both thought
that as a bit more than coincidence. Next my wife mentioned that she had
just bought some new tea. I was not a tea drinker, more of the gourmet
coffee type, and my wife had been trying different teas on me. Yup, it was
an herbal spice tea, decaf Chai. I have been drinking tea ever since. OK,
so where does the sweet for dessert come in? On Sunday, our second day of
class, we were doing a potluck for our mid afternoon snack during class. I
had already made up my mind that I was bringing 2 key lime pies. My sweet
dessert was licking the bowl and spoon after making the filling for the
pies. Can you take one more coincidence? I am Christian and that Sunday
was the first day of Advent. At church as the first advent candle was being
lit we were told by the pastor to remember that this is a holy time in
preparation for Christmas. And not only material gifts were to be coming
forth, but to
also to expect gifts from the Spirit to be bestowed on some of us. I
consider Reiki to be a gift of the Spirit to me. I know that it is
Universal Life Energy and that anyone regardless of their belief can receive
the ability to do Reiki. But to me, it is a spiritual gift.

one night, I could almost feel something pulling energy away from me,
depleting me. It was a very odd sensation. Either that morning or the next
morning I awoke with a nasty cold that I am just getting over 2 weeks later!
Does anybody know what this could be? Did I just imagine this? It doesn't

~~Growing your Reiki Practice~~
plan (along with patience and persistence). You must take a few moments and
draw up a Marketing Plan much in the same way you developed your Business
Plan. They are not the same. In your Marketing Plan you should include (1)
Your Target Market. Where do, or will, most of your customers come from.
Knowing this will help you to focus your advertising efforts. What
newspapers, magazines, and radio stations do these potential customers read
or listen to? That is where you should be spending your advertising dollars.
Don't waste your and time and money trying to find customers in groups who
do not believe in what you are doing. You will only be spending a lot of
time, energy, and money there. Work within your target market. Make direct
contacts, set up booths at local fairs and expos, network with other
practitioners whose services the target market would be interested in, offer
to do some public speaking at local service clubs and support groups, I
myself do one a month. I then offer all Reiki practitioners interested in
using their Reiki gift on others to join me in hands-on mini Reiki
demonstrations to the group. It has been a very rewarding experience for
everyone. For more ideas, I offer a Manual titled, "Marketing Strategies for
Reiki Practitioners" for ($10) and a small booklet titled, "Marketing
