when it becomes your heart's desire - you do not
master the art it masters you.
and also that of your many members - I'm learning SO
much from you all. Speaking from here in the UK,
there seems to be a strong move towards 'alternative'
medicine and practices. I feel that everyone on Earth
is being guided - gently but definitely: more and more
healers and channellers are being 'called''. It can only
be good. A question, please, for your members: How
important is meditation for a Reiki practitioner? How
does it help and how often should one practice?

Circle in the Washington area: Hi: The Reiki Center
of Greater Washington (www.reikicenter.info) does
monthly Reiki Circles (we call them Reiki Shares).
Our calendar on the website lists them, but they are
usually on the first Saturday of each month from 10am
to 12 noon. I first started them with my students and
have broadened out by inviting local reiki people found
through the web to join us. It is really fun and gives
"the givers" a chance to receive.

comfort" for Reiki recipients. I start working in Spirit
with a client's name before the actual session, although
this is sometimes quite brief. Since during a session
it's so crucial for the Reiki practitioner to keep ones
thoughts pure and totally focused on the client I, initially,
felt this was more easily accomplished by guiding them
to a serene, beautiful, unconditionally loving place to
rest and rejuvenate. I would ask them energetically, in
spirit, psychically, whatever words you choose to use,
where they would like to go. I begin this in the crown
chakra and sometimes get an immediate visual and
sometimes I'm in the solar plexus before I get it. The story
evolves over an hour as I go around the body. As the
stories became more beautiful and profound I began to
share them, only with the recipient as it is not mine to
share with anyone else. Then the feedback began and
probably 90% can relate to the place, usually their favorite,
or colors or feelings of drifting in a boat, etc.. Sometimes
they need a little coaxing or guidance, such as to put down
your spear, in the case of the warrior, and look at yourself
in the stream. This person washed off his (even though it
was a female) painted face after mirroring in the stream
and eventually swam and drifted in the stream before
merging with a beautiful rainbow. Turns out she was an
overachiever and realized on her own that it was time to
slow down.

did it out of curiosity, mainly, and haven't told many people
about it, so I'm using it mainly quietly, on little things.
I find, actually, that for snarled traffic, angry customers,
plants, my own aches and pains, and the like, it works
every time. And I do have a very clear sense of when it's
"on," and I can get it to flow immediately. BUT... wouldn't
you know that when I try to use it to get guy A to call me,
etc., it has the OPPOSITE EFFECT. What is the deal? Is
Reiki so smart that it makes up its own mind about guys I
like ??!! (ed note: any insights you'd like to share? send

I am receiving the reiki energy, my body oscillates
from front to back, if I am sitting straight on the
chair. If I am leaning back, my arms oscillates
instead of my torso. That's how I know that the
energy arrives to me. For my friend, it is different:
the energy arrives like a blow on her crown chakra.
Two people, two ways. How do YOU know that
the energy comes to you? Send us an answer even
if it is a short one, the more we receive, the more
interesting the answer to this question will be.
& expect the energy to be there. I assume it's flowing
and very shortly, my hands begin to vibrate.

I feel the energy shoot up my arms to the top of my
head most of the time. It is a tingling sensation, as if
my arms and head have fallen asleep although it is a
much more soothing feeling. Sometimes it is intense
heat. It depends on who is receiving the Reiki. If
I am getting the treatment I get the tingling sensation
all over and when the person gets to my neck...I laugh
and laugh and laugh. Not because it tickles either!
This uncontrollable laughter just take over - every time.
When they leave my neck I am more relaxed than ever
and the laughing stops. This began only after my Master
Attunement. I call them my moments of enlightenment!

ways to feel the energy come through. When I work
with Reiki energy now, I feel a very distinctive shift
in my energy field. I "know" when it comes in and I
"know" when it goes out. These "knowings" have
become stronger and stronger over the years of using
Reiki. In the beginning a practitioner needs to have
faith that the energy is coming through, allow it to
come through and open their capacity to feel and
"carry" the energy. The clearer a channel you become
the more you can "feel" the energy come through.
Sometimes the hardest thing is the faith part, just
believing and trusting that you are being a channel
for healing energy.
undergoing my Usui Master Level in August last year,
I was taught how to "protect" myself and the client,
when doing treatment or attunements. The protection
is done by visualising oneself being encased in a pyramid,
to be filled with pure white light flowing from the crown
to mother earth. Recently, something inside me questions
the need for this. After all, Reiki is harmless, so is it
necessary, this protection? Are there harmful guides or
negative elements that will enter your body if you do
not protect it? Or is it just one of those self-assuring acts
intended to give more peace of mind to oneself, which in
the end does nothing at all? I am just wondering what the
views and practices of Reiki Practitioners are like in this
Forum. I seek upon your advice and experience. Are
there any who have had any psychic attacks for not
protecting yourself?
