change in job, a new relationship, the struggles of an old
one, the birth of a child, an older child leaving home – all
these events bring with them a change in our energy patterns.
When faced with difficulties and uncomfortable life
circumstances, where do we turn? Does alcohol offer
comfort? Does sex numb the feeling of loss? Do we take
our frustration out on those closest to us?

cleanse our spirits and set them free. Imagine a sieve,
dark and clogged. This is our heart. This is our soul.
The sludge is everything that stands in the way of our
achieving peace.

Loved One's I am doing Reiki on most often I do and
I do enjoy mentioning what I have "seen" and asking if
it means anything to them. I have often shared colors
and symbols and feelings and always there is agreement
on the Loved Ones part of what I have "seen" and a
knowledge of what it means to them. Some times I stand
there in awe with chills running down my body as the
complete meaning is made known. Then there are the
other times when I "see" the angel(s) either standing and
helping me, or in a circle around the Loved One-- or the
time when the eagle flew in to snatch away a ribbon, and
also the indian who walked around my table sprinkling sand.
All wonderful and awesome visions but always with deep
acknowledged meaning. Ah yes, Reiki is in deed a blessing
for us to use and have.
Reiki Share meeting. I've been to several and amazingly,
each one was so different--we never knew when we started
what area we would be touching on. But it always ended
up with each one of us receiving a hands on Reiki treatment.
We almost always had the same people. This group was
in Bergen County, NJ. Alas, I am moving to Springfield,
MA in about 6 weeks. But I have made contact with a
Reiki share group close to our new home and I am looking
forward to joining them. Incidentally, I found the group on
your site. Thank you, Teri, for your most wonderful newsletter.
would like to congratulate you for an interesting and
useful newsletter. Thank you. Regarding ways in which
to open up and energize the heart chakra, I would like to
suggest the following method: Lie flat, close your eyes,
perhaps play some soothing music in the background.
Place one hand over the heart chakra on the upper side
of the body and place the other hand, palm-side down,
over the same area of the under side of the body. This
generally pushes the chest area upwards and outwards,
and enhances the physical space into which you can
breathe, slowly, deeply, rhythmically. Breathe into the
heart chakra. In your mind, draw the power symbol
over your hands and heart. Imagine the healing energy
of the universe spiraling through the heart chakra and
radiating out into the rest of your body. Send
unconditional love to your soul mates, remembering
that your soul mates are probably not those who you
may feel at one with, but more likely those persistent
button-pushers who never fail in their dedication to
present you with challenge at every opportunity!

HSZSN symbol taped under my Reiki table. I teach
to use the symbols throughout a treatment as guided.
This can be done by tracing with your hand over the
designated chakra, tracing it on the roof of your mouth,
visualization or repeating the symbol's name. I feel
the symbols do increase the wattage of reiki power
and give a boost to the healing on the level intended
(chokurei, physical; sehekei, emotional, HSZSN, mental).
The symbols act as a catalyst for the reiki energy cleansing
and spinning the chakras. I also use the seheki to cleanse
the room before and after a treatment, cleanse my food,
water, herb teas, cleanse stones and crystals, send purification
energy to my garden, and a bunch of other ways too. Not
everyone can give daily reiki treatments. By sending out
sehekeis to the earth with your hands up, or using the
symbols in other ways on a daily basis, you utilize the
Reiki energy and channel it throughout the planet.

wondering if anyone has come across people
who get hung up on "titles", "degrees" and
"credentials". I am a Reiki Master Teacher and
a Minister, working on my PhD but do not have
it yet. Lately I have been encountering people
who are actually seeking out Reiki Masters who
have a list of credentials after their names,
not at all concerned with the Reiki Master as
a teacher and/or guide. Out of curiosity I
am wondering if this is common. It amazes me
how important that is to some people when really
...it has nothing to do with Reiki.
looking to have a list of letters after their names. it's
kind of sad. lots of people get into something, say
Reiki for healing purposes, with pure intent and
clear purpose, but sometimes we encounter people
who place us on a pedestal. it's very easy to get caught
up in this. once we do, we may want to start adding
credentials to our names. i think the way to avoid this
problem in people we meet is to speak of Reiki with a
solemn respect. if they want to learn from you, make
sure you are comfortable that they understand that it's
not something to just throw around as a credential.
mentioned I read about healing attunements. I am not
sure what this meant, but I assume that the practitioner
places symbols into the clients chakras. If so, I
wondered which chakras, and if the procedure is the
same as for attunements. Incidentally, I tried this on
my Dad, placing symbols into the crown, third eye,
heart and the hands. His health improved overnight.
And although I encouraged self treatments (remember,
this was a family member, not a client), I little doubt
that this will happen . My thought is that the hands
should be omitted. Any experiences, information,
instruction or comments would be welcomed.
