have been difficult and joy when life is easy.
Substitute the word "God" for whatever your
belief system allows - Allah, Higher Power,
Universe, etc.
when going through something painful but
absolutely necessary to our mental health. By
not obsessing, by remembering to live in the moment,
we can help ourselves calm down and see our
situation as it truly is, not how we're projecting
it to be.
I freely admit I was absent the day patience was
handed out. I want everything now. But again,
by focusing on the moment, living in the now, I
can control my impulses and know if it's something
meant to be, then it will 'be.' And while I might not
get everything I want, the Universe, my Higher
Power, contains everything I need.

all the discussion last week on healing the inner child,
I would like to suggest you all look into "The Work"
of Byron Katie.She's on line. This stuff WORKS. You
begin to unravel the concepts that put us in pain,
(Ultimately our "stories" that we portray in this reality.)
Real freedom from our own hells.
pad is a wonderful idea for your table. I also have a
foam pad under the mattress pad which makes the
table really soft and comfortable!

of 65 and really enjoy the energy I receive while giving.
I wonder if anyone online is in a reiki circle I haven't
been to one , can't find one and am interested in starting
one. (ed. note: if you know of a Reiki Circle, please

about the inner child...I've found that HSZSN is
very useful for such connections.

~~Reiki Experience~~
at a Hospital in South Carolina. I have found that
there is always a story that unfolds that has profoundly
accurate information about my clients developing from
the time I begin to finish. It rarely shows the client's
face but maybe an animal, cloud, a form of liquid, etc.,
that evolves into a story. I ask them, in spirit, where
they would like to take me and then I guide them somewhat,
making sure it's always a safe and comfortable, relaxing place.
After the session I ask if they would like to know their
'story of comfort'. They always say yes as word has
gotten out now that I am doing this. Not once has a
client not been able to identify with exactly what I've
seen. It was like a mirroring for them. Recently, I
have been asking God if he has a message through
this story for the client. So far there have been messages,
though nothing like warnings or future predictions as
I choose not to go there. They don't mean anything to
me (one started out in a bowl of red and orange jello
but evolved into a beautiful story) but the clients always
know what was meant for them. We almost always see
the same colors and often, depending on who I am working
with, see the same scenes. Has anyone else experienced this?

~~Teaching Reiki~~ from Teri
earlier this week on opening up the heart chakra (if
you haven't been lately, it's going crazy with discussions
and posts of all sorts! :o). You can share this with
your students, if you like . . .
simple act of standing/sitting straight to be a
wonderful tool in opening this center. we've formed
a tendency to hunch over our desks and computers,
to keep our arms crossed and our shoulders rolled
forward, to scrunch up our middles. look at how
you're sitting right now as you read this post. are
your shoulders back, your spine in alignment, or
are you bending forward, your spine curved?
and how it affects the body's energy system, we can
work to correct it. sitting in a chair or on the floor,
breathe deeply into your belly. slowly move the
breathe up to your heart center, breathing into it.
roll your shoulders back, tilt your chin down slightly -
this helps pull your spine into alignment. imagine a
string going from your breastbone up into the heavens.
let your body move slightly toward the cord as you
feel its gentle pull. you'll notice your chest rising.
relax your shoulders. close your eyes. visualize
the energy swirling at your heart center, clean, clear,
pink tinged with green (think watermelon tourmaline)
and breathe.

Reiki Master, and was taught to draw all 4 symbols
before starting my treatments. I have a friend who
is the same level as me, and she's been doing Reiki
longer than me, and doesn't draw the symbols before
her treatments. I'm wondering what the difference
is as far as healing goes. Does drawing the symbols
amplify the energy? Or does it not matter?
classes I encourage students to use the symbols with
each treatment. I think many practitioners underestimate
the power of the symbols. For me, putting the symbols
in the room is a very powerful way to activate the
treatment before the clients arrives. (I also like to
put the power symbol on the table.) It establishes
the presence of Reiki energy so that your client feels
relaxed and reassured by the energy that has been
created in the room. I also put the power symbol on
each of my chakras and I put the power symbol (and
the master symbols) in my hands to align my energy
before giving a treatment. Once the client is lying
down I direct all the symbols into the crown chakra
of the client before I begin the session. This makes
the energy of each of symbols readily available
during the session. Once the session has begun, you
can use the Mental/emotional symbol when your
client experiences an emotional release or try putting
the power symbol in an area where the energy is not
moving. Remember you can't over use the symbols so
be creative and use them as often as you like. The
symbols remain in the aura after the treatment and can
continue working. The symbols help the client to hold
the healing that has been done. Use the power symbol
to seal and protect the treatment. If you draw the
symbols often, you will be able to draw them quickly
and efficiently, so that they don't slow down your
treatment. Not using the symbols is skipping steps
(and we all know the effect of skipping the necessary
steps has on anything we try to accomplish). It is my
belief that the use of the symbols has a very direct
effect on the treatment... the more comfortable you
become with the use of the symbols the more effective
(and lasting) your treatments will be.
symbols at the beginning of each healing session,
I would like to reflect what I have come to embrace
as truth. To begin a healing session, I simply say to
myself, "Come Holy Spirit." I also typically pray a
petition of intent, or merely of acceptance, often
times giving praise. The energy flows quite
dramatically with this method. My philosophy
behind these acts are that God gave us this energy,
and has the ability to control it, so I ask him to do
so. Hope this encourages those of you who like to
try new ways.
if you draw the symbols before, during, or after. the
symbols in themselves are nothing but symbols. they
represent a certain aspect of universal live energy.
they, the symbols, are not the energy its self, but a
way(tool) to focus on reiki flowing through you.
also a way to stay centered and focused on what
you're doing. i don't really think it's the symbol that
matters, but the energy that it represents. once you
re-member how that energy feels, and you can
connect with that, you may not need to use the
symbols to connect with the source inside/outside you.
wondering if anyone has come across people
who get hung up on "titles", "degrees" and
"credentials". I am a Reiki Master Teacher and
a Minister, working on my PhD but do not have
it yet. Lately I have been encountering people
who are actually seeking out Reiki Masters who
have a list of credentials after their names,
not at all concerned with the Reiki Master as
a teacher and/or guide. Out of curiosity I
am wondering if this is common. It amazes me
how important that is to some people when really
...it has nothing to do with Reiki.
