I know the explanation for what 'namaste' means goes on for many more sentences than this, but I prefer simplicity most times. Notice how this greeting starts . . . the Divine in ME . . . before we can honor another's Higher Power, we have to recognize our own. For me, this is sometimes a profound revelation . . . that the Divine is in me . . . I know this but to be reminded those times when I'm not feeling so connected is a gift. The Divine is in ALL of us. We are God/God dess . . . We are the Universe . . . and We are Mirrors for each other. To see the Divine in another IS to see it within ourselves. To know we are Divine and Perfect exactly as we are is to be connected to the moment. To be connected to the moment is to exist in past, present, and future all at the same time. . . this is Divine existence. Comments or thoughts? Would you like to be a guest columnist? There are several reasons, one in particular being life has been hectic. Mostly, though, it's because participation is way down. Hopefully after the holidays, you'll have more time to send in your comments and questions. If not , then I'll keep it bi-monthly unless I get a lot of emails protesting this! FYI, I'll be out of town for the next few days with no access to email . . . so please be patient with me if you happen to send in a book order. Last week's question came from Adam: A discussion on using the guidance of spirit guides, angels, ascended masters etc, in different peoples healings? Kathy: I often communicate with my Reiki guide and would like to share the following. Recently I asked my guide to give me his version of the 'full meaning of Reiki' and got the following: "The full meaning of Reiki includes the limitless options for healing and the unconditional love that God has for all His Children. Reiki is a gift that is available to all and shows the compassion that is bestowed on all living things." When doing Reiki treatments or sending long distance healing, I usually ask for assistance from the Reiki guides, Spirit guides, Angels, Arch Angels, Ascended Masters and anyone from t he White Light that would like to assist. I find that this provides a feeling of peace, calmness and love, as well as elevated energy levels. Next week's question comes from Stephanie: There are a few things about Reiki I find confusing. ~~Reiki Experience~~
I became a Reiki Master in August 2001, after about two years of work and study with Mary Carol Weber in Nederland, Colorado. After reading and preparation, the day came that I, and the others in my class, were to get our "Reiki I." MC explained what would go on in the attunement, told us to find a comfortable chair, put it in a comfortable place, and prepare for a few minutes by meditating. Two voices spoke up in my head. "For what?" said the one. The other said: "Oh boy! Here it comes!" I was not the first person in the class to receive the Reiki I attunement that day. While I was waiting my turn, there was time for a brief dialogue inside. "What? You think you are going to be a healer? I know all the s--t you've pulled in your life. Come off it. You? Impeccable? Are you serious?" Suddenly, being outside, in my car, and heading home seemed like very good ideas to me as things did not seem to be going according to plan. Then my mind grew very still, my body grew very warm, and a voice said: "This energy is impeccable." I have practiced Reiki with peace and with joy ever since.

Discovering heat and cold

When you first start
You may not feel the heat right away
The thrill of the energy
The EGO wants you too fail
The heart says go on …
The heat happens when you feel the difference
Not the normal a lifting in energy
At this point it is just starting to flow
Most people move on now
Thinking the Energy change is the end
It has only started; the heat grows, and then slows
The wondering of where to go, what to do next
As when the hand leaves
The coolness of the skin during the Loss of touch
The missing, the cool air
On to a new position
The flow & awareness
The heat comes back
The heart races, the pulse quickens
Am I doing this right?
Does she feel this at all …
The heat in your hands quickens
The sweat grows
She moves and replies that’s nice
WOW am I getting through
Or was it just a thought , Pleasant small talk
Did it ever happen? Did she feel it at all
The heat in your hands feels
It knows were to go to help
And what to heal …
