~~Reflection~~ Teri Moore, editor & RMT
We're faced with so many choices today, so many paths. How can we know the right one? How can we know where we should go? Reflecting on this today, I find my thoughts directed to the concept of morality and being a good person. For me, living a moral life is about listening to my conscience and not doing anything i inherently know is wrong or hurtful to another life form (no matter how animate or inanimate), to the planet, or to myself - whether someone's looking or not.

~~Reader's Corner~~

Kathy: The Cenacle Retreat Center is a beautiful 42 acre, 125 room, retreat and spirituality center run by the Sisters of the Cenacle, although they do a variety do programs for all denominations and we have several different churches, organizations, hospitals, businesses that book their retreats here and meetings. They have the option to stay one day or one week. Anyway, I am the new lay director and every year even before I started here, in October they have Reiki training. It is always booked solid (there are not too many that teach in this area, may be a great place to look at, for classes for someone in this area) anyway we received a notification that we will be picketed by 100 + people that state that Reiki is a cult and not a part of religion. It amazes me that people who claim to be christian, picket the good things that bring us closer to God. Everyone has to put down what they have no knowledge up. So keep up the good work Teri....We know the truth.

Several of you responded to Tere's request for info in treating HIV patients. Here's what you had to say!

Judy: I read the question regarding alternative natural treatments for AIDS patients and would like to contact the person who asked it. I am a distributor for Tahitian Noni International whose chief product is Tahitian Noni Juice which I use as an adjunct to Reiki. It has shown to be very effective in some AIDS patients by reducing T cell counts and improving their overall sense of well-being. I don't want to sound like a walking advertisement for Tahitian Noni Juice, but it has shown benefits to many people with many different "dis-ease" processes. It is an adaptogen. (Tere, I don't have your email any longer - if you contact me I'll send you Judy's email address teri@reikione.com )

Richard: I very much want to address this question some one brought up about Reiki and HIV meds. I am an HIV+ ReikiMASTER and I work with many HIV+ men and women I have done this since 1999. Please do not make anyone feel wrong for taking HIV medications or any prescribed medications. WE ARE NOT DOCTORS. Reiki is a complementary treatment. It is to help people who may be under doctors care not to replace it. I personally Have found doing reiki to myself and over my medications to significantly reduce side effects. I tell my clients to do reiki over there medications and if they are second degree to use SHK over them to see if this reduces side effects and most of all if they feel guided to talk to their Doctors about side effects that are getting in there way. If they are still unhappy they may feel guided to see another doctor for a second opinion. There are many new medications out there and many combinations to try. I have been undetectable and have had a high T-cell count since I became a Reikimaster. As I said I have very few side effects but this came about by working with my excellent medical Doctor and using Reiki . I also support my clients who choose not to use medications but I never get involved with what they are choosing to take or not take as I am a REIKIMASTER NOT A DOCTOR. Please keep working with your HIVt friends and god bless you. I hope this is helpful. if anyone has other opinions I would very much like to hear them.

Sue: Tere, some types of Chinese herbs are excellent for boosting the immune system. There may be some doctors near you who practice both western and Chinese medicine who specialise in that area. Also, meditation promotes peace of mind and can be powerful for personal healing and growth.

Edward: In response to your query about the AIDS cocktail, I have a suggestion. There is a little known secret that our government doesn't want everyone to know about because it works so well. It is called Jiaogulan (jow-goo-lawn) This plant was discovered by a woman who had cancer. After making a tea, she cured herself. You can take the pills or the tea everyday. The pills are no more than compressed tea. Jiaogulan is a great gentle detox cleaner for the body. If you need rest, you get rest, if you need energy, you get energy. It is good for everything. It brings the body back to its' natural state of homeostasis. If you have tried everything else, why not this. Most Asian grocery stores carry a version of the tea and some herb/health food stores. I carry both in my store or you can order from their website; www.immortalityherb.com

Bunny: have you ever heard of the QXCI bio-feedback machine? I have not used it specifically for HIV but because it is useful for a myriad of conditions there may be some possibilities there. Some really amazing things are being done with it. If you contact me directly at bigskybalance@yahoo.com I'll see what I can find out for you.

Comments? Suggestions? Complaints? They don't have to be about the newsletter, just about Reiki or other healing topics. Be heard! Send them in! teri@reikione.com

~~Reiki Experience~~

New Experience from John

2 SHK Haiku for departed Spirit Animals

Deer, Crow pass over-
deer says, "Thanks", crow is upset.
Healing at distance.

Circle of deer, thankful.
Silver circle of crow, guides.
Bodies near the curb.
There was a dead deer in the road for a day. I sent distant healing for crossing over and received immediate.."Thanks, thought no one noticed" thought-wave then circle of mental image of deer in circle with departed one in center.

Dead crow in gutter...sent SHK to the bird...immediate barrage of anger and attacking with story crow was caught unawares and struck to the curbside...more Reiki sent
to him and he understood the energy and amongst his spirit brethren so that they offered a crow-guide if needed with the exception they would also protect my cat though already protected and cross referencing spirit realms.... they appreciated a human's compassion and intent...I wasn't looking for a guide at this time...it was offered as
gratitude.

New Experience from Judi

Namaste! I have been a Reiki practitioner for a year now. Level I. I am a paralegal by profession and work in a large office building. I barter Reiki sessions with a physique enhancement spa for synergy treatments and hair styling, and I barter with a psychologist for hypnotic sessions and energy treatments. I use Reiki with my dogs, my food, my garden, my neighborhood, my city, my state, my country, my family, my fellow employees, my office building, my office, all of my equipment (including my automobile), our government, our troops overseas, and am aware of the life healing energy in all that I come in contact with whether through my mind or in the existence we call reality. I have been aware of the healing energy since I was a small child. My dad would hold whatever part of our body was injured (including deep cuts) and would say "You will live". We went on with our life and never gave the injury another thought. He could sweep his hand over our bodies and sweep away a fever. I gave birth to 9 children and I did the same with them. It is true that we do not have to believe in Reiki for it to work, but the difference could be between a colander with the holes all clean and clear and a colander that has the holes stopped up with "gook". Thank you, Teri, for your ezine and all of the beautiful messages from your ezinees. We are blessed with Universal Life Healing Energy.

New Experience from Rita

I feel Reiki I gave to my son while on an E.R.was very beneficial. He fell off a cliff and I saw a big stone bounce off him as I started running to him. He is 9 and only had a bad scrape and nothing broken. He is my baby and closest to me and knows about reiki.. We are very in tune with each other and I feel that helped the reiki work better also.I am so thankful he is alive., Rita P.S. We were mining for crystals and were almost done for the day. I wonder if there was a message in that?

New Experience from David

I thought I would write from the heart about my experience of the last month of doing Reiki healing full-time. Just as the solstice began, I was let go from my old, frustrating job and given the opportunity to do what I had been saying was a dream of mine: to heal full-time.

I am happy to report that the month has been joyous, with people connecting with me whom I had not heard from for several months just calling me because they felt we needed to reconnect. I have had lots of serendipity: a new woman client from Japan, who said it was hard to find Reiki there and wanted to experience it here; some people releasing past lifetimes on the Reiki Table; some new clients becoming new students.

I have ventured into the world of print advertising and on July 31 will have the first of three mass mailings going out in some local advertising coupons. They had had massage therapists in the past, but never Reiki practitioners--I'll let you know how it goes.

I still am opening to the universe bringing me sufficient clients to support myself fully with the healing. I figured I needed 10-15 per week (and a couple of classes) to make things go smoothly financially, but the messages I receive in my meditations seem to suggest that I will have what I need each month.

The funniest "message" I received was from Mrs. Takata who stated that since she was helping me with my classes and practice, I needed to earn my living that way. She said that all of her students had to agree to earn their whole living with Reiki.

Anyway...thanks for the valuable resource you provide to the Reiki community with your newsletter.

Responses to Cristina's Experience, as shared in last week's newsletter (visit the archives at http://www.reikione.com/news if you missed it!)

Morgan: I would like to respond to your query. Christina, first let me say to you that you are indeed a strength to your husband and family as you all go through this most difficult process. You say that you are looking for a "cure" for your husband. Reiki is an energy that is not directed but goes to where there is most the most need. You speak of being more at peace and "carrying (his)illness quite well". Maybe that's what is meant. However, that road is still in place and has not ended. No one knows how things will go. You may very well end up with a "Cure". But for now, "Reiki brings peace to your souls" and that is a good place to be.

Sandy: I'd like to respond to Christina who is discouraged that Reiki is not healing her husband's cancer. Healing comes on many levels, and physical healing is only one level. Reiki can help with emotional and spiritual healing as well, and it can ease suffering. Often we need to heal emotionally and spiritually first. Then the body can relax and begin to heal itself, if that is in fact what is right for the person. Even people who do not get cured can live the rest of their lives, however long that is, with peace and vibrance. The disease has made them stop and pay attention to what is really important in life. One thing I've learned from Reiki is that death is not the end--it is simply the gateway to the next phase of your life. I pray for you and your husband, and I hope that he recovers completely. Reiki only works for the best. Keep your hearts open and allow reiki to work in whatever way is best for your husband's spirit.

Sue: Cristina, I think reiki works for the highest good of the situation no matter what you may be thinking - you are merely the channel for sending reiki to your husband. It's beautiful that you are able to do that for your husband. I think sometimes we need to let go of our focus on outcomes and go with the process. Our good intent and unconditional love is most important. Your husband will receive exactly what he needs from the reiki session. If your husband is enjoying the reiki experience then it is enriching his life. Healing may be taking place on different levels: physical, emotional, spiritual, etc. Don't forget to care for yourself too and get someone to give you reiki from time to time.

Bonnie: Cristina expressed a concern about "curing" her husband, and about feeling empty herself. We are a channel for healing energy - we allow the energy to come through us and pass on to the people that we are working with - our clients - whether they be family, friends or paying clients. We do not direct the energy - we allow it to find its own path. The healing will take place where it needs to. Your husband may well be accepting the healing, but not be ready to "let go" of the cancer yet. It may also be the case that he is in t he process of letting go of the cancer. It is not unusual for symptoms to get worse before the client gets better - there is a great deal of balancing, healing and tossing off of toxins going on. (It comes to my mind to tell Cristina to be sure a drag the released energy from her husband at the end of the Reiki session - and to run her hands under cool water to cleanse herself.) Perhaps Cristina's "empty" feeling comes from the need to see results. We have to put the energy out there and let it go - to not be attached to the results. Cristina - know that you are indeed bringing a healing to your husband.

Karen: Dear Cristina, in response to your experiences with Reiki and your husband’s cancer. First of all, please relax and have faith that Reiki is working for the highest good for your husband. What we believe to be a ‘cure’ may not be for the highest good of the person or animal involved. It’s can be hard to grasp, but I think this is a vital (and difficult) point of understanding for anyone involved in Reiki. Personally, I feel that Reiki is love – it has to be given unselfishly and unconditionally for the highest good of the being involved. Please don’t have any doubts about your abilities, Cristina – on the contrary, I think you must be a very special and caring person to give so much of yourself every day! However, will you please find time for yourself also? You say that you feel ‘empty’ and I wonder if you are neglecting yourself and are feeling a little run down emotionally and physically. Please give yourself a relaxing Reiki treatment and ask other Reiki practitioners to send distance healing to you – perhaps ask for them to ‘bank’ the energy for the time your head hits the pillow at night, so you feel fresh and positive in the morning. You know, so often we neglect ourselves and feel guilty about making ‘me time’ – but remember, we can help more people if we’re in tip-top form ourselves! [smile]. I hope this helps, Cristina - much love and Reiki light to you and your husband.

Willy: First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your courage, not only because of the way you're handling things, but also for your honest and sincere reaction in the Newsletter. I assume it takes great courage indeed to write down and publish your true fears and feelings on the situation you're in. As a Reiki III, you'll sure have had experiences when Reiki really works things out, so the issue now is, why doesn't it seem to work just when you need it most ? Now answering that very question is difficult and in a way dangerous, because written words can be easily misunderstood, whereas spoken words can explain more. Cristina, Reiki can be very powerful, but it is not a 'miracle-cure' we can use in all cases. However, what's wrong about traditional medicine combined with Reiki ? We all got taught in the first Reiki class that a broken bone which is shifted needs repositioning by a physician before we can start giving Reiki on it. There are a lot of other examples likewise. My point is only that no matter how curing and life-saving Reiki can be, we do sometimes need other methods too. I believe cancer is a condition that requires al possible help there is. Yet another thing we're taught in Reiki classes, is that we cannot 'tell' the energy what to do or where to go. In other words, we can not force it to go into the cancer and cure it. Your husband receives Reiki, and he will get the most possible profit out of it, though we can't tell exactly what this profit might be. Moreover, this profit will not always be obvious, and then doubts are coming over us : are we good enough, are we making mistakes in the way we give Reiki, has the energy 'abandoned' us, does Reiki work at all etc., etc. Well Cristina, be sure : Reiki really works, and it hasn't abandoned you ! Even if you don't feel anything, don't go thinking that you 'have lost' it. It is absolutely normal that you have periods that you don't feel a thing. One point of view is that you need the doubt sometimes to prevent you from becoming 'automatic pilot', another opinion is that you're own psychological filter is not 'cleared' all the time. It's all a matter of thought of course, and everyone is entitled to his own opinion on this, but let this never give you any reason to believe you're not good in Reiki. I also believe a great deal in the role of intent when giving Reiki (Mr. Taggart King wrote a very good article on this). Even if you're technique 'fails' once in a while, if your intent is pure and correct, all will work just fine. Now I'm convinced that in this situation, no one can think of your intent not being right. I try to give you a few really plain arguments to put things back into proposition, basic things that'll hopefully help you out in some regard. Moreover, I would suggest to hold on giving Reiki to your husband, because eventually, you'll see what benefit comes out of it, no matter how. Not only are you helping both him and yourself, but I gather it can also be a part of getting through the whole process. Now another very important part : my dear Cristina, do you have anyone to give some Reiki to you (besides yourself) ? Please don't forget the double role you have to play : you're a healer with a heavy duty and a commitment, and on the other hand you're the wife of ... therefore very involved in a lot of pain and fear. You as well have a huge need for help and support, so try to get it. If you take care of yourself, you'll help yourself a bit and you'll be able to help your husband in a far better way. I sincerely hope things will work out well for the both of you, and I'd like to wish you and your husband lots of courage and Love.

Roxy: I have a chronic illness and although I too hope for a miracle, I feel like I am getting a slow miracle. In the past few years that I have been using Reiki I have had unbelievable results in small ways, overall my health is so much better than it was. I also can't say enough how Reiki has changed my life by changing my outlook, that being a small miracle in itself. So even if my miracle has to carry into the next life I feel I am getting it! Also you need to seriously Reiki yourself to be able to keep up the level of support you are giving to your husband!

Dhamiboo: My experience and feeling is that by definition Reiki may or may not cure...it's what ever is for the recipients highest good. By definition, that is simply the way Reiki is. The highest good might be continued illness or "healing". For instance, sometimes someone chooses to die because that may bring their family together. My larger belief though is that what we believe is what we get. So one's beliefs and intentions as a Reiki practitioner will alter our experiences. For example, I set the intention to work with clients who will experience and tangibly feel the Reiki, and be cured. And so those are the types of clients and results I generally attract. Believe me, there are times when I wonder, because I offer Reiki at a free clinic and sometimes clients sign up with out any belief or notion of energywork. But I have learned to trust in my intention. Sometimes I do a bit of work on someone, and they still haven't felt the desired shift. And so I go another round and that usually does it. If I didn't believe in curing, I might stop after that first round and then get less results. Believe me the Reiki still works regardless...it's mainly our awareness of results and what "highest good" means. So note the distinctions: Reiki is taken by the recipients higher self for their highest good and Reiki can never force someone to be cured. (If it could, this world would be really happy and healthy). But the Reiki practitioner through their own intention in the type of practice they wish to do, can set the stage for certain experiences. Our belief system affects our view of the world, and co-creates our experience. You know, the typical example of an optimist and pessimist walking down the same street are going to see different things from the same reality. And the person open to being abused is going to create different relationships with different people than the person who will not be abused.

Paul: my opinion: dear christina, it seems to me you are trying to do reiki using your energy/will. i believe that if you let go and let reiki, you'll find that all the sensations and even more return. if you let go and let reiki, then whatever happens you are open and excepting it as gods will. whatever your sensations are in doing reiki, remember, it feels different to him. ask him, he'll say it feels great! even if you can't find the ill spots, reiki can. do it anyway. let go and let reiki. god bless you both, i pray for you.

June: The answer to your problem is in the question, and the fact that you are questioning! if you think you're useless then you are indeed useless. On the other hand if you believe you're a channel for healing, then indeed you are. Trust in the universe and believe in yourself. You need to get your head straight before you continue, you've no chance if you put blocks in the way, you have to go with the flow, your husband also has to get his head round it because he plays a major part. My ex has beaten cancer, earlier this year, and he is prone to negativity, so he had to do a turn around because he wanted to live, and that in itself is half the battle, if his thoughts are 'I don't want to die' it's the wrong thought, his thoughts should be about life and living. As for fate, bullshit, fate is letting something or someone take over your life, you take responsibility for your own life you don't give it to fate.Don't worry about the recent set back, see it as a fresh challenge, a new start, and remember, It's always darkest before the Dawn. Don't believe in Miracles Expect them. I look forward to reading of his recovery!.

Responses to Anita's Experience, as shared in last week's newsletter (visit the archives at http://www.reikione.com/news if you missed it!)

Sue: Anita, I don't believe it's a necessity to charge anyone for reiki, however, you are giving your time and full presence to the receiver. I know if I pay for any service, I want to get the most out of it, whereas if the service is free I may not have the same level of commitment. This goes for healing services too. Although reiki happens anyway - I feel that if I'm paying for the reiki, I will get more out of it because I will be more tuned into the experience and therefore more open to healing. You could always offer reiki free of charge to people who may not be able to afford to pay and just charge those who can afford it. Or, you could offer your services voluntarily to a health / welfare organisation explaining that you would like to gain more practice. After a while you may feel more confident to set up your own business. Whatever feels right for you is the way to go.

Roxy: We have a 'Reiki healing circle' once a month. Practitioners of all levels come together, public invited as participants. We spend about 20 minutes with each participant, 3 or 4 practitioners to a person if there are that many of us there. The public can experience Reiki for free to see what it is all about, people who can't afford the treatments can get it once a month, people will be more interested in becoming attuned, and we all get in great practice. After we are done with the 'customers' we work on each other if there is time. The energy in the room is so high all night it is unbelievable!

Dhamiboo: I feel you can start practicing Reiki at any level. It's all about your experience and comfort in doing so. Yes, do realize that gaining experience is a valuable gift to yourself. I give Reiki at a free clinic and that experience has been invaluable to me in my confidence and growth as a practitioner. I see 4-6 clients every week there, many of whom are having their first Reiki experience. So realize that when you need confidence that experience may be the exchange of energy. On the other hand, realize that you are already very gifted, and some money or barter is certainly reasonable. The important part of the exchange is that you feel good about your choice to give someone a Reiki session and are not being a martyr; and that the recipient signify and honor themselves, you, and their intention to heal. I have set the intention for divine union with my "clients" that I work with those I am meant to work with and for whom tangible effects will be felt. I listen to each request and if I feel like I am meant to work with that person, I will work for free if I have to. Reiki is my livelihood and so I charge money, a lot by usual standards. But I offer sliding scale and listen to each request. And I know there is always time to do free sessions. If I cannot serve someone because I'm tired or they don't have the money, I know that they are meant to work with a different healer. The bottom line is that I always tell prospective clients not to let money get in the way of seeing me, and so if they really want to they can find a way. As far as fearing that people will go unserved if you start charging and they don't come to you, trust that there are many healers out there. You are not the only one. There are always healers working for free. I would set the intention to work with those that you specifically can help best. They will either come up with the money, or you will feel called to see them for whatever they offer. On a side note, I feel it is often important for recipients to signify their intention to heal with money or gifting. A Reiki session can be a major life transition ritual if that intention is put into it. Sometimes money helps signify that intention. A lot of times healing is about choosing to change major life patterns, and gifting helps a client signify their intentions to themselves. If you can do distance work, you can work on bigger intentions to reinforce this. For example, I offer a free distance healing grid to anyone. I also have an intention to be a distance channel of healing for anyone who can use any of the energy I access. This means that that flow is going through time and space no matter what I do. If I take some time to ride my bike, or paint, the energy is still flowing on it's own. This allows me to work in person with those I feel called to and enjoy working with. And it allows me to take time to myself. I wouldn't necessarily believe that ones intention is that powerful, but I hear reports of my spirit visiting friends and acquaintances and clients even when I've held no conscious thought of them at that time. Since Reiki only goes where it is wanted by the recipients higher self, I don't worry about forcing anything on anyone...that way I don't have to identify every soul in this world and ask permission...thankfully Reiki is divine!

~~Up for Discussion~~

This column features a different question each week for your musing, opinion, and response. Comments received will be published in the next issue.

Last week's question came from Allison: A question to all Reiki Teachers out there who include a guided meditation when teaching Second Degree so that the students may contact their Reiki Guides - anyone got one they really enjoy? My Second Degree Teacher never addressed the possibility of angels and guides. Now as a new Master Teacher myself, I am coming up empty on a meditation that would be appropriate to a group setting. Anyone out there have something?

Kathy: My Reiki Master Teacher did a guided meditation during my Reiki I and it was a really wonderful experience. It was the lighthouse meditation where you go up through the lighthouse and every floor has a color coordinated with the chakras. When we got to the top, it was very bright white light and she told us to meet our Reiki angel. I could see her standing there in the white light and she told me her name was Rebekah. I call on her every time I do Reiki, along with other angels and archangels.

David: I do Reiki meditations in all Levels of Reiki. Here are a couple:
1) Seeing yourself climbing Mt. Kurama....gathering stones and climbing, then sitting at the summit waiting, then seeing the sunrise at the horizon, then the bubbles of light, then the striking with the energy.
2) Finding yourself in a comfortable place for you. (usually in nature).
Inviting any guides or teachers who work with you (and want to) of the highest light to join you in the comfortable place. Asking them their names and their purposes.

Linda: John Edward has an excellent tape "Understanding Your Angels and Meeting Your Guides". It was introduced to me by Reiki friends and I've used it many times. You can get it at Amazon.com or Barnes and Nobles.

Kathy: This is something I pieced together from various sources. Sorry I can't give credit where credit is due....anonymous????
Meditation for Reiki/Guides to be present - START WITH PRAYER.......... PRAYERS May my higher chakras guide the necessary purification and enfoldment of my lower chakras so that my chakra system develops as a whole and can engage responsibly with others in further healing the planet and ourselves. May I be guided in ways that support the formation of truer role models for human relationship - using all my chakras toward a more harmonious and powerful expression of our underlying and overarching unity.
Preparation for the Meditation
Then ask..... for permission of your students higher self to know and/or experience (by one or all of their "senses" perhaps) their guides and ask them to be present during the attunement... and also for their healing sessions. Then proceed to the meditation ~~You might want to tape record the written portion of this meditation to guide you as you move through it. Speak very slowly and softly as you record this meditation. Find a quiet place . . . free of distractions.
MEDITATION>>>>>>>> . . Adjust the lighting and room temperature. . . Adjust clothing . . .footwear . . . eyeglasses. Sit down --in the lotus position if possible --or in a position that is comfortable for you. . . Be sure your back is straight . . . even if it is resting against the back of a chair. Quiet your mind . . . Still your thoughts . . . Relax your body . . . Your face . . . your jaw . . . relaxing . . . Your shoulders . . . your neck . . . relaxed Your arms . . . your hands . . . feel at peace . . . Your torso . . . your hips . . . letting go . . . Your legs . . . your feet . . . totally relaxed . . . Focus on your breathing . . . Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose . . . Retain the breath as long as is comfortable . . . To fully understand the purpose and functioning of meditation one has to observe the human as both a physical and spiritual or psychological being. Meditation helps to connect the physical and spiritual levels of the human being. This connection is brought about at the vital centers within the body known as chakras. During the process of meditation psychic energy known as Kundalini or 'Serpent Power' builds up and flows through the chakras. As it does, the chakras open in a successive order. This psychic energy as it increases influences or controls different areas or levels of your mind. Generally, three levels of the human mind are recognized: the conscious, the subconscious and the super-conscious. The conscious usually pertains to or governs the voluntary actions which the person performs during his waking state such
as eating, speaking, walking, writing, etc.; The subconscious usually controls all of the involuntary functions of the body such as breathing, the heart rate, etc.; The super-conscious, is frequently referred to as the Higher Self, when developed may control the other two mental levels. For example, there have been incidences where through meditation individuals have voluntarily controlled their rate of breathing.

Next week's question comes from Sally: I have my Reiki I, II and Advanced. My RMT told us that every time you do a healing on whoever or whatever, you need to draw in the CKR into the palm of your hands. I would just like to know how true this is because I find that for example if a child is ill or has fallen, etc and you still have to draw in the symbols, they look at you as if you are totally mad and then it's "what are you doing?" Is it absolutely essential for you to draw in the symbols to open your palms to be able to channel in the Reiki energy?

~~Music/Book Review~~

from Trev - Just a line to let you know that the music I find excellent for Reiki is Keeper of Dreams by Philip Chapman.

From Karen: 'Truth Vibrations' by David Icke. You can buy it from Amazon. I found it thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening -- very easy to read and the 'truth vibrations' do register as you read it!

Read a good book or heard some good music, healing-wise? Write a review and I'll include it in the newsletter. Email your review to teri@reikione.com.

~~Just for Fun~~~

A sweet little boy surprised his grandmother one morning and brought her a cup of coffee. He made it himself and was so proud. He anxiously waited to hear the verdict on the quality of the coffee. The grandmother had never in her life had such a bad cup of coffee, and as she forced down them last sip she noticed three of those little green army guys in the bottom of the cup. She asked, "Honey, why would three little green army guys be in the bottom of my cup?" Her grandson replied, "You know grandma, it's like on TV...'The best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup."
