Archived issues of this newsletter are available for viewing at http://www.reikione.com/news/. "Keep a green tree in your heart and the singing bird will come . . . . " I absolutely love this proverb from Master Lui and the promise it brings. As long as I can stay in a balanced and centered place, all will be well. There is no need to fear or doubt. The Universe is working exactly as it should. Comments or thoughts? Email Teri at teri@reikione.com. MaryAnn: Thank you for all your thoughtful answers and blessings, it really helped keep me together in a though time. On a happy note, the set of tests that returned today all came back normal, and I will be seeking a second opinion just to be safe. I am also planning on continuing my meditation and will be putting the Reiki on hold for now. The universe has got my attention and obviously I need to tend to getting my life in order before I tackle the next step. Again, thank you for all your Reiki, thoughts and blessings. Renee, on an earlier Discussion topic: Lisa's question about doing a meditation with the client before a session - I do a little meditation/ritual before a session the way I was taught: Gassho - meditation, Reiji-ho and Chiryo ... it doesn't take long and it's never the same but it centers me ... this moment of stillness gives the client some time too ... but I have not really done a meditation together with a client, except with a very close friend and that was a magical experience ... Jim, also in response to Lisa's query: I personally like to say a prayer before beginning a session with anyone I am working with (whether is be person to person or from a distance...) I call in any guides, angel, Ascended Masters, those who have gone ahead of us who wish to work with this healing session. I ask that this be for the highest good for the both of us, giving thank to those present (in body and in spirit) and for the universe for this gift called REIKI. Then I start the session. I have from time to time spent 15 minutes in silence just opened to the energy before the receiver of the session has arrived. I hope that this will help in your sessions. Bonnie, on Lisa's question: I was taught to say a prayer to God (or creator, )....beforehand, before clearing yourself and the client....(I too am Reiki 2), In the workbook, there is a page that says......before the session, stand by the client and feel their energy....so you know how (he, she) is feeling, if possible; which would make the session a bit easier to guide your hands Maggie, on an earlier Reiki Experience: In response to MaryAnn on road blocks while on the Reiki path--I find that whenever obstacles present themselves in my life, my higher-self or spirit is trying to tell me something. Often times we blame the universe or outside forces for things happening to us. In truth, we create everything around us. From our relationships, jobs, daily intuitive decisions...we have the power to be change our own situations. Sometimes the planets and energies of others accelerate us on that path of our higher self. Check out www.astrologyzone.com for news on mercury retrograde and the upcoming eclipses. So in answer to your question, rather than the universe blocking you from receiving attunements easily, perhaps its more that your spirit is not ready. Most often we run from things that will change our lives dramatically because it can be painful to view these old wounds that must be re-experienced. In reading your story, Reiki will definitely help you, but do you dare to take the healing challenge? Meditate on it or use a divination tool to connect to your higher-self." And also from Maggie: I'm being aired practicing Reiki on TV. It's a show called "Health Cops: New Orleans". I was given the challenge to transform a woman physically and spiritually in 12 weeks. I used Reiki, yoga, herbs, breathwork, vibrational essences, feng shui, and much more. The show airs as follows (all times are Eastern): Comments? Suggestions? Complaints? This column features a different question each week for your musing, opinion, and response. Comments received will be published in the next issue. Last week's question came from Lisa: Libby: I have a friend who has really, really bad eczema all over her body. It's an autoimmune disease (in her case anyway.) She's had Reiki treatments from someone before and loved it, while the treatment went on, but says that her itching, burning and inflammation seemed to become worse or become activated after a treatment. She's going through a bad time right now, and I'd thought of offering her some Reiki. Does anyone have any experience with treating people with eczema? Heidi: My experience comes from both eczema and psoriasis. I suffer(ed) from both. I used to have the psoriasis so badly on my hands that I had to constantly wear gloves and could not hold my then 2 year old daughter. I put up with this for two years; went to several doctors, who were of no help, and then I found Reiki. I hadn't even had a Reiki treatment before I was attuned to level I, but I was so desperate that it didn't matter, I knew it was what I needed. Only one month after I was attuned I began to see an improvement. After my attunement to level II my psoriasis was nearly gone, with only occasional flair-ups. Since my Master Teacher Attunement I have been psoriasis free. The eczema only appears after I pet my beloved kitty....but it's worth a little itch for that allergy. It's gone within a half hour. I'm not sure what to suggest for your friend aside from suggesting that she try getting attuned so that she can do Reiki on herself daily...even if it's after she's in bed and ready for sleep. I also found that when I did Reiki on others during this time that I had an even greater improvement in my eczema and psoriasis. She may also want to try drinking wheatgrass juice. It's a wonderful system cleanser. Good luck and blessings to you and your friend. Linda: I have not worked with anyone with eczema, but I would like to comment on the burning and itching after your clients Reiki treatment. I know that Reiki accelerates the healing process, and have been witness to this when my husband suffered from a severe sinus infection that was moving into his lymph nodes in his neck. I gave him a Reiki treatments every day, and he was extremely sick with a fever and chills after each treatment. But, as the week went on, he got better quicker than anyone he worked with who also were out with the same infection. Your client is experiencing more burning and itching because their eczema is healing at an accelerated rate. More Reiki treatments mean quicker healing...maybe a little more uncomfortable, but certainly quicker!! Renee: It is amazing how often we question Reiki and her energy .... and this is mostly the case when we expect (and want to be in control) of the outcome of the treatment ... well, we are not ... and this is the hardest thing to learn ... We are not in control ... we cannot heal anybody else, we can only heal ourselves ... There is no wrong way to do Reiki, nor is their a wrong way to receive it ... Reiki is a natural balancing energy and we are facilitators ... It is not unusual for symptoms to intensify after a healing session, and sometimes a healing-crisis might occur ... this is all part of the healing process ... it is not easy to not blame Reiki or any other therapy if the outcome disappoints us or makes the situation worse .... I know that ...As for offering your friend Reiki healing ??? Absolutely Libby ... go with your intuition ... your question feels as if Janet: The meridian therapies are very good at getting rid of autoimmune problems....amazing. In particular, JMT and NAET. If her friend could find a local practitioner of these techniques, she may be pleasantly surprised....especially JMT. Next week's question comes from Jennifer: what are the thoughts on women receiving Reiki attunements while pregnant? (especially the Master attunement) Is the fetus attuned as well in that situation ... or is it left to the fetus' higher self to accept or decline (as in distant healing). I've not had a lot of luck finding solid information that addresses this specifically, so I'm interested in any ideas that other practitioners may have. WHAT MOMS REALLY WANT FOR MOTHER'S DAY To be able to eat a whole candy bar (alone) and drink a soda without any "floaties" (ie, backwash). To have her 14 year-old daughter answer a question without rolling her eyes in that "Why is this person my mother?" way. Five pounds of chocolate that won't add twenty pounds to her figure. A shower without a child peeking through the curtain with a "Hi Ya Mom!" just as she puts a razor to her ankle. A full time cleaning person who looks like Brad Pitt. For her teenager to announce, "Hey, Mom! I got a full scholarship and a job all in the same day!" A grocery store that doesn't have candy/gum/cheap toys displayed at the checkout line. To have a family meal without a discussion about bodily secretions. To be able to step on a plane with their toddlers and NOT have someone moan, "Oh no! Why me?!?" To occasionally get to sleep late on the weekend. I mean is this too much to ask? To actually carry on a normal phone conversation with her toddler in the SAME room. To actually be able to finish a HOT cup of coffee while her kids are present. An impossible feat! To take a hot bath without her toddler suddenly screaming, "Mommy, I have to go potty!" as soon as she hits the water! there is doubt in your mind and if you don't feel comfortable with this, then don't do it. Right now I think your friend will benefit from a whole body treatment ... ask permission to touch her since she might not like that and if she doesn't want to be touched, do the healing right above her ... and I would use the mental/emotional symbol before and during the session. Eczema indicates often an extreme sensitivity to the life circumstances and emotions around us. Skin problems are a way to keep the world at a distance ... it limits physical contact ... touching hurts ...
See these websites: JMT - Jaffe Mellor Technique http://www.jmt-jafmeltechnique.com
JMT is great also for fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, arthritis, etc. A friend got rid of his arthritis (rheumatoid) in three sessions with a local Dr. of TCM who does JMT and NAET. A bonus was his diabetes seems to have disappeared. His blood sugar is normal.
NAET- Neuro-Emotional Anti-Sabotage Technique This is very strong....great for getting rid of allergies.

I have been learning EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique -- and used it recently on myself to remove sadness. It can also help with physical problems...as can many other spin-offs of the meridian therapies...NET, etc. It can often remove trauma or a phobia in just one session. Basic EFT can be downloaded for free from Gary Craig's site. http://www.emofree.com
It is easy to learn and you can teach the client how to do it in one session. Gary Craig has Links on his site.

The ONE Research Foundation

gives explanation of NEAT and NET - Neuroemotional Technique, also strong for physical conditions.
