I was performing yard 'Sadhana' today - mowing, trimming, watering, when my mom came over and asked if I would take her and my dad for a boat ride. My husband and I have just recently acquired a small, used pontoon boat with a temperamental motor. Well, we got backed away from the dock and into the middle of the water and, as I tried to shift into forward, the motor stopped. After a few kicks, it started up again and we were on our way. Took a nice loop around the lake and on the way back to my home, just as we were headed for the dock, the motor stopped again! So, not only did we not make it home, we started drifting backward with the current, headed for my neighbor's paddle boat. More kicking and punching of the engine console, some not so nice words, and the motor finally started, except this time, it would only go in reverse. Every time I tried to go forward, it stopped working. I thought, Okay. This doesn't matter. I just have to dock it because my mom and dad are arguing about how I should be driving the boat and I REALLY need to park this puppy. After an embarrassing 15 minutes or so, with neighbors hanging over their decks watching, I was backed into the dock and tied off. Mom and dad went home, still arguing, and I went in the house and plopped down on the sofa. It was then this thought struck me (warning: I'm about to get philosophical) . . . . Sometimes, you drift off course and end up missing out on opportunities; sometimes you end up in some else's backyard and wonder how you got there; sometimes you ram into something and do a lot of damage; and sometimes, by the simple grace of the universe, you get where you're going. Lorna, on Taggart's guest Reflection column last week: I really appreciated your well written article full of good common sense and intelligent insight. Deb, on the same article: thank you for tackling the subject of "when NOT to do or send Reiki." I too have heard of so many restrictions...the Reiki Master who taught me, from level I to my own master training had to have surgery twice since I've known him. In both cases he asked me to send to him, but admonished me NOT to send Reiki during the time he would be under an anesthetic. I respected his wishes, and asked him how on earth he could teach and preach about the beauty and goodness of Reiki, especially when offered "for the highest good of the recipient," and yet still make such a superstitious request. His answer was that Reiki wears the anesthetic off! UNREAL. Reiki can never be used for or do any harm! Thanks for reiterating this truth in a clear and honest way! Comments? Suggestions? Complaints? Last week's question came from Satish: I would like to put up a topic for discussion to the readers of the newsletter. I would like to know if any one has some experience in healing diabetic patients. Can the blood sugar levels be controlled with out medication, exercise or diet control only with reiki treatment? Which chakra seems to be associated with healing a diabetic? Anita: When treating the pancreas or pancreatic dysfunction (diabetes, hypoglycemia), pay attention to the chakras immediately above and below the pancreas: Solar Plexus, Navel, Spleen (lower left rib area), Vortical (Belly), and Hara. Also treat the elbows, where acupuncture meridians run that affect the pancreas, and the Throat Chakra (seat of the Causal Body) were karma is held and where all healing is possible. A woman arrived at the Gates of Heaven. While she was waiting for Saint Peter to greet her, she peeked through the gates. She saw a beautiful banquet table. Sitting all around were her parents and all the other people she had loved and who had died before her. They saw her and began calling greetings to her: When Saint Peter came by, the woman said to him, "This is such a wonderful place! How do I get in?" "You have to spell a word," Saint Peter told her." "Which word?" the woman asked." "Love." The woman correctly spelled "Love" and Saint Peter welcomed her into Heaven. About a year later, Saint Peter came to the woman and asked her to watch the Gates of Heaven for him that day. While the woman was guarding the Gates of Heaven, her husband arrived. "I'm surprised to see you," the woman said. "How have you been?" "Oh, I've been doing pretty well since you died," her husband told her."I married the beautiful young nurse who took care of you while you were ill. And then I won the multi-state lottery. I sold the little house you and I lived in and bought a huge mansion. And my wife and I traveled all around the world. We were on vacation in Cancun and I went water skiing today. I fell and hit my head, and here I am. What a bummer! How do I get in?" "You have to spell a word," the woman told him. "Which word?" her husband asked. "Czechoslovakia." ~~Reiki Experience~~
It was a wonderful experience and extremely spiritual. Upon returning home I had an odd feeling on my left side, it was if someone was brushing me with a wire brush. While I could feel it lightly it became stronger when I came in contact with my husband. At first I tried to ignore him but eventually I had to tell him what was going on. I prayed and meditated all week, and also wrote to the woman whom had done the Reiki on me for help. She said to ground myself and meditate, and let her know if it got worse. By Saturday I was not better and I found myself at a New Age Fair and I located someone to give me Reiki. I immediately felt better and have been involved in her meditation group ever since. When this kind soul gave me Reiki she told me that I had the hottest head she has ever felt, and actually pulled her hands away like from a stove. The Reiki worked and the brushing sensations stopped. I also took this as a wake up call to clear up something's with my husband, and we did.
Because I wanted to be Attuned to Reiki First Degree, I signed up for her course, only to be told that she felt I would again have a reaction if I did it so close to the holidays. So I waited. Then I signed up again, only to start to have medical issue come up that could be life altering. So again I have to cancel. I am starting to wonder if it is possible that the universe just does not want me to be attuned. I have always felt as if I all ready am attuned and regularly send unofficial Reiki/blessing to people and have since I was a small child.
Has anyone ever seen something like this before? I have heard Reiki can bring up all kinds of emotional stuff when you are attuned. Can Reiki set off a disease process in the body? The dx they are looking at is possible MS. Could this be why she could not touch my head? Any thoughts you might have would be helpful. Any Reiki you could send my way would also be appreciated, after a couple of months of being distracted with this, I need to get back to my life of working with emotionally handicapped high school kids.
