Florida excludes Reiki people and other energy folks. I found that out with
my present policy which includes polarity and it will be interesting to see
what they say when they contact me for renewal this year.

Reiki and Christianity relate. I, like many others have struggled to
integrate my faith (Catholic Christian) with Reiki teachings. Over time, I
have begun to find language to articulate my understanding. To me, Reiki is
scientific. It is a physical healing module. For the average individual,
it is invisible, as are other forces, like gravity, air and gases. Reiki
energy was created [by the Creator], for all to use, also like other
creations, such as air, gravity, etc. We need no belief system to use these
gifts or to call upon our many gifts, yet, we are free to intermingle our
beliefs with our gifts. As a Catholic Christian, I searched the Gospels
(Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, which tell the stories of the life of Jesus)
for evidence supporting Reiki. In short, I found peace and direction. The
Word is often referred to as the Living Word, as it is accepted differently,
by different people, and at different times in their lives. Many things
stood out for me. There is a story of a woman who touched the robe of
Jesus, as he was moving through a crowd, and Jesus stopped and asked who had
touched him, as he felt the ENERGY leave him, as she was healed. His
disciples were upset with the crowd, but Jesus corrected them. Jesus, in
another parable said, you will do these
>things, and much greater things. I have come to believe that Reiki is the
gift of healing, which can freely be accepted. Another thing that I have
come to believe is that Reiki energy is the Holy Ghost, or the Holy Spirit,
which passes through me, as a healing vessel. I ground myself by simply
saying, "Come Holy Spirit." At times, I will during a healing session, pray
different things (not out loud). Sometimes, that Your will be done, not
mine. Or if I have been particularly human, (and feeling a bit guilty) pray
that my own sinfulness not prevent this individual from benefiting; which at
times, creates an outpouring of energy. At other times, I may recite
Catholic prayers which are meaningful to me. Sometimes, I will chatter with
the client. Each session is individual and unique. I would encourage each
Reiki student to come to terms with their faith and Reiki. The two cannot
be separate, yet I believe it is correct to find this balance individually,
as opposed to trying to teach theology with Reiki. It would be similar to
trying to teach theology with medicine. If I were a medical doctor, I would
pray for guidance, pray for my patients, and thank God for the gift of
healing, as I do as a Reiki Master, but I would not expect to be taught that
technique in med school. If I were a teacher, the gift of teaching would
merit praise. And so on. I do believe that it would be helpful for
students to have an opportunity to learn how others have traveled the road
to acceptance of Reiki, with their faith, or with their lack of belief in
God. To my knowledge there is no complilation of these types of stories.

Christiananty and Reiki! Reiki ENHANCES positives! We were promised to be
able to do all the Christ does and more! I was raised Catholic, I am no
longer one, to be honest about it. BUT NOR AM I FOR "THE DEVIL"! Since I
don't believe in the devil anyway! Good and evil is in us all! Its where
your focus is! However some people are in search for the "spiritual" or
"religious" path that they find to be "truth"! If they want to at this time
or forever more make this their religion, that is up to them! Funny thing I
was recently told.....a friend of mines grandmother said "whats all the
argument as to who's religion is "the one", isn't there only 1 (ONE) Pearly
Gate that we hear about! Please don't tell me that all others go to
hell..........PLEASE!! That wouldn't the God I believe in way! Nor is
there more than One God! If one does ask for the truth, continually, they
will be given the truth! AND THAT IS THE TRUTH! You will be shown the
truth, just ask for it in you thoughts and prayers! Recognize that its ones
own base of fears that one will put positive things down! Isn't funny, how
when the Bible promises us one thing, and someone is actually able to do
what we are promised regardless of what it is.........then the Church will
say its Devil Work!! They are not controlling are they? Keeps you going to
them and giving them money when they keep you in FEAR doesn't it? Another
thing I was told a long time ago.. FEAR=False Evidence Appearing Real!! Ask
for truth!

~~Reiki Experience~~
treat other people every week or so, then I get a funky kind of energy
build-up in my system. I feel kinda flu-ish and tempermental. As soon as I
treat someone, and the more the better, I can breathe freely and joyfully.
Treating myself somewhat alleviates this but nothing like treating others;
it really takes that. I was pondering something I read, that those who go as
far as III have a kind of obligation to spread the reiki word, and to treat
and teach others. I know part of this is to take this level seriously, but
could it also stem from the fact that, at III, we MUST treat others to stay
balanced ourselves? It's a powerful thing, reiki, and not to be taken
lightly .... we all know this. Wondering if you or anyone have any thoughts
on this?

Towards the end, the pain became excruciating and I began to scream. It felt
like my head was sizzling from the inside out. It took several days for my
head to feel normal again after this experience. The MRI operator told me
that he has found (in his own workings) that people who are sensitive to
energy fields complain of pain during MRI. I thought this was interesting
since I have not read any research on this and I am asking if anyone knows,
or have experienced, this phenomenon.
(Karuna) Reiki Master (and increasing my awareness of our energy field
interactions), I've noticed that my head and ear will hurt after spending
more than say 15-30 minutes on my cell phone (on the side I've used it).
>From time to time, I've also noticed a sharp pain shooting up my legs, from
the bottoms of my feet, when sitting at my computer; only to look under the
desk and notice that my feet have become nestled in the octopus of cords at
my feet (lamp, fan, monitor, computer, printer, scanner, etc. etc. etc.) Not
sure how this relates to the MRIs, but I've definitely noticed a connection
between pain and concentrated interaction with energy fields (specifically
EMFs). Hope this helps!
Resonance Imaging) is actually a civilized name for the NMR (Nuclear
Magnetic Resonance Imaging). For Marketing purposes, they take the
'nuclear' out of the title, though in acuality it refers to the Nucleus of
the atom, not nuclear as in "bad". An aside. Anyway... why this is
happening is that the MRI uses magnetic pulses to "bend" the molecules.
Depending on how they react, the magnetic flux is affected in a certain way.
The computer is able to interpret this flux to "see" inside. Also remember
that Chi is an electromagnetic wave (two components - One being a Magnetic
wave, one being electric) Basically the magnetic field is bent and disrupts
your own natural chi flow. As you are sensitive to it, this causes the
pain.
found a tumour. I must say, I did not experience anything like that, thank
God. Could they actually finish it? I will post this to my "Club", we are
all Meningioma
sufferers (about 450) I would say, worldwide, but mainly America and see
what response there is. So far I have never had anyone mention it and I read
and write regularly since about 9 months.
ghastly experience, but had no pain. I had my first Reiki treatment which
somehow resulted in my being partially "attuned" a year ago April and was
supposed to go for an MRI soon after that. Going back into the room with
the machines upset me so much at some level that I backed out of the whole
process, foregoing a diagnosis. At a rational level, my biggest objection
was that I was really afraid that the magnetic field would somehow
interfere with my Reiki. As I was more or less OK with the idea of the test
before arrival at the lab, I tend to think that the energy field of the
machines had something to do with my discomfiture, but I can't prove that.
I'm sorry that's not a real answer to your question, though you have given
me a partial answer to mine. You might want to take a look at Scientific
American for June, 2002; Savant Syndrome: The Genius of Rain Man. The
pertinent part mentioned scientists trying to produce the 'savant'
capabilities in normal humans by using "repetitive transcranial magnetic
stimulation (rTMS) on the left temporal lobe. At least to my satisfaction
that verifies that the MRI procedure is not as benign as we have been led to
believe, i.e., strong magnetic fields are not totally without physical
effect. I am anxious to read of others' experiences.
L-4) in my lower back. I have had 3 MRIs to date. Our hospital just
recently installed a new MRI machine that has a larger magnet (larger hole
to put various body parts into). I experienced intense heat scanning up and
down my body while the diagnostic procedure was taking place. I complained
to the MRI operator and asked her if others felt the same thing. She said
she had not received that many (many?? Any at all scares me!) complaints.
The new machine is said to have a much better resolution and a much stronger
magnetic field. I thought it felt like being in a microwave oven. I did
not like it, and I will never allow myself to be diagnosed using this newer
type of MRI machine again. My previous MRIs (11 years ago) were done with
the old "narrow tube" version, and I never experienced any tissue warming
with those machines. The only other variable to add to my last MRI is that
I was a newly attuned Reiki practitioner at that time.
seizures and strokes, I have ungone numerous MRI's of the head and various
other parts of the body. My experiences have ranged from intense pressure
and pain, to a
sensation of rocking, swelling, seizues, and loud buzzing noises. There
were also times when my balance was worse than usual after being in the
machine. It took me several days after an MRI before I felt "normal"
again. When I mentioned this to the tech, they acted like I was insane.
The tech kept attributing it to claustrophobia, which I don't have. LOL.
I always
wondered if it was due to the heightened sensitivity to energy, and energy
changes. (I also wondered if it was due to my water molecules being pulled
apart and slammed back together...the process with which a MRI works.)
Either way, I knew what I was feeling was NOT claustrophobia, and it wasn't
what they told me I would feel. (which was nothing) I have noticed that
Reiki is becoming almost mainstream in various hospitals as a pain modality.
With this upsurgance of Reiki practitioners and energy workers in the
clinical setting, I wonder if more hospitals and clinics will have a
question
on their MRI questioniare regarding this issue. It would be a great
indicator to see if Reiki practitioners, and energy workers suffer this
problem in MRI's.
